This study aims to prepare a heterogeneous catalyst based on magnetic nanoparticles CoFe2O4@SiO2-Schiff base-Cu(I) for the synthesis of dihydropyrimidinone-1,2,3-triazole. This catalyst is expected to replace the commonly used homogeneous catalyst, CuSO4, in the formation of 1,2,3-triazole compounds. In the preparation process of CoFe2O4@SiO2-Schiff base-Cu(I), CoFe2O4 was synthesized using a green synthesis method with Averrhoa bilimbi leaf extract. The prepared CoFe2O4@SiO2-Schiff base-Cu(I) magnetic nanoparticles exhibited a nanoscale size with an average particle diameter of 59.91 nm and a cubic morphology. Additionally, the nanoparticles exhibited strong magnetic properties and good thermal stability. CoFe2O4@SiO2-Schiff base-Cu(I) can serve as a heterogeneous catalyst in the synthesis of the model compound. Hybrid compound was successfully obtained in moderate yield (33 %). The optimal condition for dihydropyrimidinone-triazole synthesis was achieved using 10 % catalyst, at 80 °C for 48 h. The FTIR spectra, XRD patterns, and band gap values of the CoFe2O4@SiO2-Schiff base-Cu(I) catalyst before and after the reaction exhibited no notable variations, confirming that the catalyst remained structurally stable with no significant changes during the reaction process. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd
