Issues regarding migrants, especially in the process of adjustment in the new residential environment and cultural conflicts that occur as a result, has become the theme of German films in the last few decades. One of them is the film Shahada (2010) by Burhan Qurbani. This 88-minute melodrama genre film tells the story of three young Muslim people who live in Berlin and have to deal with new things so that conflicts within themselves and their identities occur. The scenes in this film will be analyzed using the concept of identity construction from Stuart Hall. The identity construction seen is Islam as the belief of migrants and the plurality of Muslim identities shown about Islam from the negotiations that took place between the "roots" and "routes" of Muslim migrants in this film. Through the analysis of this film, it will be seen how the construction of German Muslim migrant identity is displayed. © 2020 Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved.
