Abstrak
Solid polymer electrolyte membranes have been prepared by blending PVA and chitosan, doped with lithium bis(oxalato) borate electrolyte salt, and plasticized with glycerol. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements revealed that dopant concentration of 10% salt provided the optimum ionic conductivity. An examination using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy demonstrated how the components interact. Subsequent impedance measurement was performed on the best performing salt concentration with temperature variation from room temperature to 70°C. In contrast to typical result, it was found that room temperature conductivity gives the best result at 3.64×10-5 S/cm at an all-solid-state system. This value was higher than commercial Celgard separator where its conductivity was 5.82×10-6 S/cm in conventional liquid electrolyte environment. It can be concluded that PVA-chitosan based solid polymer electrolyte has satisfactory performance for lithium-ion battery application. © 2024 Author(s).
