Abstrak
Obesity usually occurs alongside insulin resistance and the prevalence of insulin resistance among obese population has been increasing. Insulin resistance poses as a trend for type 2 diabetes. The treatment for insulin resistance mainly focused on lifestyle modification. As the prevalence of insulin resistance increases, additional therapy for insulin resistance should be considered to improve insulin resistance. Andrographolides, as one of the most commonly bioactive compounds found in Andrographis paniculata, is widely used for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antivirus, antitumor, and immune regulation effects. It is commonly used traditionally in type 2 diabetes communities. However, the safety and toxicity are questionable.
