Museum Sejarah Jakarta or Jakarta Historical Museum is located in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. The museum occupied an old city hall building at the center of Jakarta's old city. This essay examine to what extend that Jakarta Historical Museum, as a city museum, represents its society. Whose history that they exhibits? The research discovered that the museum is not yet represents Jakarta's current inhabitants. The displays are the voice of its curator, there's no community involvement. Moreover, the museum is only housed and exhibits archaeological artifacts from prehistoric era to colonial era (which ended in 1945). Nothing about the present days are displayed within their permanent exhibitions.
