Abstrak
Indonesia is a country that is subject to frequent earthquakes, which necessitates earthquake-resistant building construction. Reinforced concrete is a commonly used material in Indonesian construction due to its cost-effectiveness and ease of maintenance. In practice, the quality of concrete used in structures often does not meet the planned specifications due to on-site conditions such as temperature, improper curing, and inadequate consolidation of the fresh concrete. ACI 318-19 provides permissible limits for the degradation in concrete quality in buildings, but the impact of this quality degradation on building performance has not been extensively studied. Therefore, research was conducted on the effect of concrete quality degradation on reinforcement requirements using ETABS to determine its impact on reinforcement needs. The study found that the permissible degradation according to ACI 318-19 structural performance decreases as the quality degradation increases. As a result, a structural redesign accomodating the quality degradation increases the reinforcement requirements significantly. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.
