Abstrak
Heart disease has diverse phenotypes, such as cardiac remodeling (i.e. cardiac hypertrophy and cardiac fibrosis), myocardial injury, myocarditis, or cardiomyopathy. Cardiac disease progression is common due to redox imbalance, proinflammatory state, and fibrosis formation. Andrographis paniculata and its bioactive compound, andrographolide, have antioxidant and anti-inflammation properties. This systematic review aims to analyze the potency of Androgaphis paniculata and its andrographolide effect as a cardioprotective agent in animal studies. All investigators conducted systematic searching (through PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, and Web of Science independently using PICO as follows: “Andrographis paniculata” OR “Andrographolide” AND “Cardiac Disease.” The PRISMA Protocol was applied as a part of search strategies. The primary outcome is cardiac function parameter, based on echocardiography …
