Abstrak
Stress is a natural coping mechanism triggered by external factors affecting one's professional or personal environment. However, prolonged or repeated exposure to stress can lead to detrimental physical and psychological consequences. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of chronic stress exposure on serum inflammatory biomarkers, oxidative damage to erythrocytes, and hematological parameters in vivo. Twenty-four adult rats were divided into four groups of six animals each: a control group; PI: rats exposed to permanent illumination (24/7); FW: rats with limited access to daily food and water; and FS: rats subjected to forced swimming stress (4 days/5). After 21 days of exposure, the results revealed significant hematological disturbances, including reduced red blood cell (RBC) counts in the PI and FW groups.
