Introduction: The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia has decreased from 30.8% (2018) to 21.6% (2022), but still a high-category public health problem. It is in line with the lack of diversity in food consumption among toddlers. More than half (56.9%) of toddlers in Indonesia consume less diverse foods. Dietary diversity is known to be one of the determinants of stunting. Analysis of the relationship between dietary diversity and stunting in toddlers based on research results in Indonesia is still difficult to find. Objective: Analyze the role of dietary diversity on stunting among toddlers in Indonesia. Method: This research used literature review method. Articles were searched in the Scopus database with the keywords dietary diversity and stunting. Inclusion criteria are articles resulting from primary research conducted in Indonesia published in 2019–2023 and several other criteria. Results: This research analyzed 8 research articles in several regions on Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Sumba islands, Indonesia. 7 out of 8 articles stated that there was a significant relationship between dietary diversity and stunting among toddlers in Indonesia. Several articles reviewed also show that other factors are significantly related to stunting, including inadequate nutritional intake, child age, birth length, parental characteristics, and food availability and access. Conclusion: Dietary diversity has an important role in stunting among toddlers in Indonesia. Increasing dietary diversity needs to be supported by optimizing other interventions so that stunting prevention can be more comprehensive. Further research is needed to better understand the dynamics between dietary diversity and stunting in Indonesia. © 2024, Muhammadiyah Palu University. All rights reserved.
