This article aims to examine the role of environmental turbulence in driving green innovation within Indonesia's oil and gas sector. It highlights the mediating influence of strategic entrepreneurship on these dynamics. We employed a quantitative methodology including data survey from 89 respondents representing upstream oil and gas operators and service sector companies in Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach with partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM), this research was tested the hypotheses through structural models. The result confirms that strategic entrepreneurship significantly mediates the relationship between environmental turbulence and green innovation. The findings suggest that enduring entrepreneurship-driven strategies are essential for successful industry transitions toward sustainability, highlighting the importance of aligning organizational capabilities with long-term global objectives. This study pushes forward the understanding of strategic entrepreneurship by integrating resource-based view, dynamic capability, and competitive advantage perspectives to predict green innovation adoption. Our empirical study demonstrates that environmental turbulence can serve a strategic opportunity by strengthening the strategic entrepreneurship to foster green innovation. The research ultimately recommends the oil and gas companies to prioritize strategic entrepreneurship to achieve effective and sustainable green innovation implementation.
