Abstrak
Electric vehicles are a current trend and a necessity to support environmentally friendly technology. The chassis is the main component of an electric vehicle, which is the supporting structure for the weight of components such as the motor and battery, passengers, and goods on it. So, an optimal chassis strength design is vital, with the level of stiffness and strength adjusted to the operational needs of electric vehicles. The chassis in this research was designed using composite materials, as alternate to conventional iron or steel, while utilizing the merits offered by natural fiber-reinforced polymer consisting of ramie fiber and polylactic-acid matrices. Moreover, the focus of this research is to analyze the chassis’s shape profile.
