Abstrak
Discourse on alienation has been widely discussed from a social and psychological point of view. The influence of the physical environment in the urban context has not been widely discussed, although the physical environment often affects the behaviour and psychological state of humans around it. This article is structured to describe the extent of alienation discourse in the urban built environment so that the discussion on this topic can be deepened in the context of society 5.0 where urban life's quality can be improved with the use of data. This article was compiled using the literature review method by collecting discussions related to this topic that had been produced previously, then structuring and mapping it. The conclusion is that there are aspects of the urban built environment that contributes to urban alienation. These aspects can be defined in a more empirical data so that continues monitoring can be done to improve the quality or urban built environment that heads towards no alienation for its citizens, especially to its workers. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
