Solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) is a key component in the development of solid-state lithium-ion batteries. A Solid polymer electrolyte membrane is usually formed by the combination of host polymer and lithium salt. This work investigates the influence of various weight percentages of LiClO4 salt into the poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA)-based SPE membrane. The SPE membranes were prepared by using the casting solution technique at 80°C. The characterizations of the SPE membranes were conducted to study the complexation, ionic conductivity, and crystallinity which were carried out using FTIR, EIS, and XRD methods. The highest ionic conductivity was obtained by the addition of 15wt-% LiClO4, as much as 2.70×10-5 Scm-1 with its crystallinity index as much as 31.20%. based on the results, LiClO4 influenced the characteristics of the SPE membrane significantly and in this composition has potential to be implemented in solid-state lithium-ion batteries. © 2026 American Institute of Physics Inc..
