Abstrak
Thermal comfort in residential buildings is influenced by several factors, such as climatic conditions, human factors such as activity, clothing and health conditions, as well as the physical condition of the space or building. This research was conducted at a landed house in South Tangerang City to determine the level of thermal comfort of the house building and the factors that influence it. The research was analyzed using ENVI-met software with two scenarios of building area and vegetation and non-vegetation land cover. This study reveals that the geometry of space, building materials and type of vegetation contribute big impact on the microclimate and outdoor thermal comfort of the investigated landed house. The results of this study can help designers and homeowners to understand the needs of green open space area planted by shading vegetations and the use of house’s building materials to optimize the thermal comfort. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
