Introduction: Malnutrition is one of the global health challenges. Children's nutritional status is influenced by parenting practices, children's food intake, and a healthy environment. Women's empowerment is an important factor in childcare and determines children's health status. Objective: This study aims to update the current evidence on the relationship between women's empowerment and child nutritional status and analyze direct indicators of women's empowerment. Method: This article was written using the literature review method with 18 corresponding articles analyzed. Most of the articles found were from South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Result: The study showed that there were 3 groups of indicators (resource allocation, reproductive-related decision-making, and combined) and 4 dimensions (resources, agency, achievement, and combined) found. Conclusion: It is necessary to determine appropriate and suitable indicators of women's empowerment to obtain more substantive information, and to collect data with a longitudinal study design to measure indicators of women's empowerment based on the life cycle. © 2024, Muhammadiyah Palu University.
