This paper sheds light on investigating the use of transpuan as a trans woman reference by using word association, topic modelling, and critical discourse analysis. We crawled 1514 tweets about transpuan from X by using Google Colab and applied netnography approach to investigate the context of the data. In analyzing those short textual data, we implemented word association analysis and topic modelling with LDA to find some insights into how this word was used by X’s users. We also implemented CDA to figure out an in-depth contextual analysis of the use of transpuan. The findings from these three analytical stages showed similar issues that gender identity, social legitimation, and ideology were reflected in the way users used this reference. These findings hold crucial implications for drawing out an approach in computational sociolinguistics studies dealing with a large amount of data. ©2025 IEEE.
