Background: Early detection and intervention tools are needed for people at high risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD. Aims: A risk prediction model for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) diagnosis made by primary care physicians was created and tested in this study. Methods: We used data from 548 Indonesian NCDC Integrated Care Centers/Pos Pembinaan Terpadu Penyakit Tidak Menular (Posbindu PTM) COPD screenings and randomly stratified sampling visits in March 2023. Patients over 40 were included, but non-smokers and those with a prior diagnosis of COPD were not. Results: The incidence of COPD was 3.1%. The risk of COPD for smokers was substantially higher at age >50 years [odds ratio (OR) = 2,640, 95% CI, 0,850 - 8,202) compared with ages 40-49 years. The OR for other risk factors for respiratory symptoms: cough with sputum production, short of breath, cough and diabetes had a risk respectively for COPD. Area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for the complete model in the validation test was 0.723 (95% CI, 0.589 - 0.875). © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
