Given the importance of maintaining trustful relationships, the goal of the present research was to determine whether volunteer motivation correlates with interpersonal trust. A correlational design was employed, and measures were obtained from 1,334 volunteers from various cities in Indonesia. Interpersonal trust was measured using the Propensity to Trust Scale by Evans and Revelle (2008), while volunteer motivation was measured using the Volunteer Functions Inventory by Clary, Snyder, Ridge, Copeland, Stukas, Haugen, and Miene (1998). The results demonstrated that three of six designated dimensions of volunteer motivation were positively correlated with interpersonal trust: Values, social, and understanding. The protective dimension was negatively correlated with interpersonal trust. Advanced analysis also determined that the six designated dimensions of volunteer motivation influence interpersonal trust, especially values, and understanding. Both of these dimensions have stronger influences on interpersonal trust compared to the other dimensions, which are protective, career, social, and enhancement. © 2020 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
