Intrinsic and extrinsic motivation from unified theory of acceptance and use of technology model mediating innovation diffusion theory for intention to use E-learning

Abstrak
In the current global competition, human resources need to improve competitiveness to have competencies there are in line with company needs. The competencies required appear complex because of the conditions that currently accelerate the work process. Therefore, there are need for an effective and efficient method to improve the employees' competence using e-learning technology. This study examines the Innovation Diffusion Theory through the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model. This research uses quantitative data obtained by surveying 220 Indonesian employees using e-learning system. The statistical data shows that the innovation diffusion theory mediated by intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the UTAUT model has a significant effect. The aspects that compile innovation diffusion theory significantly and directly affect the employee behavioral intentions using e-learning systems. The findings suggest that the theory of diffusion of innovation has various indicators in it for the application of learning systems and further development of e-learning so that they are able to have a real impact on company performance and competitiveness. © 2023 Author(s).
