Abstrak
Collaboration between Australian and Indonesian hospital pharmacists began via an e-mail discussion group. This led to participation in drug information, clinical pharmacy and cytotoxic handling training programs at the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (CMH) in Jakarta and elsewhere in Java. Training and conference attendance in Australia was also arranged. Such training was very valuable for CMH during its attempts to improve the quality of pharmacy services at a time of economic hardship. Unlike Australia, Indonesia does not have a formal clinical pharmacy training program and there is limited opportunity to put pharmaceutical knowledge into practice. Cooperation between Australian and Indonesian hospital pharmacists has continued and will help to provide a basis for education in clinical pharmacy. These programs have the potential to enhance the quality of pharmacy practice in Indonesia.
