The description of this Global City book examines the development of global cities in Indonesia and offers a strategy in the form of a new paradigm in city development based on inclusive social development. Inclusive development is translated as a new approach to development by developing an increasingly open environment, inviting and involving everyone with different backgrounds, characteristics, abilities, status, conditions, tribes, and cultures. Inclusive development opens up a very wide space for public involvement (participation) to replace a collusive economic system that is capital-intensive and tends to be exclusive. City development in Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia, although heading toward a global city, requires a more specific approach, especially related to the inclusive social development paradigm. The inclusive social development paradigm raises 3 important aspects, namely: structural, social, and cultural aspects.
