This study aims to analyze the influence of demographic factors on the quality of life in Indonesia’s West Java Province by comparing the situation of migrants and nonmigrants. Province of West Java has the highest in-migration rate in Indonesia as well as high population growth. Population size could provide advantages as well as disadvantages for development. We used Susenas (the national socioeconomic survey) data from 2014 with 37,833 samples of the labor force and 19,259 samples of individuals and an ordinal logit model.: Quality of life (QOL) variables are influenced by individual demographic factors, such as gender, age, household size, marital status, female-headed household (matriarchy), and employment in the formal sector. Comparing QOL between migrants and non-migrants gives a better picture of how each group contributes to economic development. In addition, separating migrants and non-migrants could help to identify the roots of social problems in West Java Province. It \was found that all variables except female-headed household are statistically significant in terms of affecting QOL. In addition, migrants have a higher QOL than non-migrants. © 2020 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved.
