Background: Measurement of health literacy hasn’t been widely carried out in Indonesia, even though literacy is a precursor to community practice in living a healthy life. There are various instruments for measuring health literacy, including the health literacy questionare as Health Literacy Scale-European Union (HLS-EU) and the digital health literacy questionnaire as eHealth Literacy Scale (e-HEALS). The reliability and validity of the e-HEALS questionnaire haven’t been widely studied in Indonesia. Objective: To test the reliability and criteria validity of the digital health literacy instrument (e-HEALS) for students. Methods: Descriptive quantitative research method, cross-sectional design. The population is all students of Dharma Husada Institute of Health on Public Health Undergraduate Program, with inclusion criteria is active in September 2022 and having WhatsApp. Exclusion criteria are first semester students who haven’t started studied. The population is 186 students, with a sample of 130 students. Data analysis used Cronbach Alpha test and Spearman correlation test. Results: The e-HEALS and HLS-EU questionnaires are reliable. The reliability test with Cronbach Alpha obtained results of 0.789 (e-HEALS) and 0.758 (HLS-EU). Proving the criteria validity of the e-HEALS with the Spearman correlation test, the result is a positive correlation of digital health literacy with health literacy in students (r = 0.183; p = 0.037). Conclusion: The e-HEALS and HLS-EU questionnaires are reliable, so the questionnaire can be used especially for students. The e-HEALS questionnaire is valid, indicated by the positive correlation between the e-HEALS results and the HLS-EU results for students. © 2023 MPPKI. All rights reserved.
