Abstrak
The Indonesian diaspora, estimated at 6 to 8 million, is a diverse community, yet maintains a link to Indonesia’s cultural treasures. Moreover, youth are essential for cultural preservation, resilience, and the promotion of Indonesian national pride abroad; hence, this duality presents both challenges and opportunities. The authors find that research on the cultural practices of the Indonesian diaspora underscores their significance and the challenges associated with preserving cultural identity. Therefore, to address research deficiencies, the authors inquire into how Indonesian youth diaspora preserve their cultural identity amidst globalisation and multiculturalism in their host nations. This study examines the Indonesian youth diaspora, its dispersion, the resilience and nationalism challenges faced by its youth, and strategies for overcoming these concerns. Not only that, but this study also highlights the significance of Indonesian youth diaspora resilience in safeguarding national identity and cultural heritage, informing cultural preservation policies and initiatives. © 2026 selection and editorial matter, Ajaya K.
