This study aims to comprehensively analyze current and future research trend in Deep Eutectic Solvents in Chitosan based drug delivery. A bibliometric and content analysis were conducted as a quantitative approach for that purpose. The study examined 674 studies from Scopus and visualized the results of the bibliometric analysis through co-occurrence and thematic map analysis using VOSviewer, BibliometriX and Tableau software. Content analysis was then performed based on the co-occurrence analysis results. The findings show that publication trend showed that R-square value for publications is 0.468 and for citations is 0.523, which is categorized as fairly good and has potential for growth. Four main clusters were identified, which varied from the utilization of DES as green solvent for extraction to improving the psychochemical properties of chitosan, leading to better solubility and permeability and sustained release of the drug. In conclusion, bibliometric analysis indicates a trend of increasing publications and citations related to the use of chitosan and DES in recent years, which reflects the potential applications of DES in chitosan based drug delivery. © 2026 American Institute of Physics Inc..
